For more than a year, I've been dedicating part of my time to learning more about the Japanese language and culture. I have been using the resource WaniKani to learn new kanji and vocabulary words. At the time of writing I'm at Level 7, which accounts for a large number of common kanji (current progress is 240 kanji, 604 vocabulary). I can read any modern hiragana (ひらがな) or katakana (カタカナ). I can read and speak many common phrases, such as greetings and simple questions. The most recent information on my WaniKani studies can be found on my profile.
